Mississippi State Representative Abe M. Hudson, Jr. truly believes that "Together We Will" Educate, Enhance, and Empower the Mississippi Delta.
Abe was first elected on June 28th, 2016 and sworn in on July 25th, 2016 in a special election for Bolivar and Sunflower Counties, he was subsequently re-elected in June of 2019.
Abe is a native son of the Mississippi Delta. He is a graduate of T.L. Weston High School in Greenville, Mississippi. After graduation, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. He then attained two Master's degrees, one in Business Administration and the other in Finance, from Mississippi State University. Currently, Abe is pursuing a Doctorate in Urban and Regional Planning from Jackson State University.
Currently, Abe is the Vice Chairman of Ports, Harbors and Airports in the Mississippi Legislature. He also serves on the following committees: Agriculture, Drug Policy, Tourism, Transportation, and Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks.
Previously, Abe was employed with Delta State University's College of Business for over five years. Entrepreneurship is so near and dear to Abe’s heart that he operates a co-working space in downtown Cleveland, Mississippi that 15 various businesses have utilized.
At present, Abe owns two businesses, Abe Hudson Consulting Services, Inc. and Real Delta Tours and Artistry, Inc. "It's up to us to change the trajectory of the Mississippi Delta; we must begin with entrepreneurship,” stated Representative Hudson.
Abe has been a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for over 20 years. He and his wife, Adrienne, live in Shelby, Mississippi. Adrienne is a dedicated educational advocate and elementary school principal. Together, they have one daughter, Abee Miranda, and one dog, Sophie.
